Christmas in Nagercoil...

Christmas season in Nagercoil is always exciting, a certain type of magical warmth fills the air and lifts the spirits. The town seems to glow with all the star lights and serial lights that adorn most houses, it's a simple kind of beauty and it never ceases to amaze me.  The Nativity scene at home... The Christmas tree... The nativity Christmas tree ornament... An angel declaring the good news... Infant Jesus Church, Nagercoil, decorated with stars...  The crib inside the church...     One of the smallest and most beautiful nativity scenes, saw this at a father's home... he made this out of scrap material lying in his backyard.  The nativity scene in Carmel school... The nativity scene in Little Flower School... Houses decorated for Christmas... The holiday season made even more beautiful by my brothers birthday... here is the bacon pizza I baked for them (their names start with M & V, can you make them out on the pizza?)

Christmas at home...

An angel beckons... Remember the  crib from last year ,  made use of the angel charts to cover the top this time.... Look at them proclaiming the good news.  An angel spreading the light...  This is how it looks...    The Christmas tree in church that me and a cousin decorated...  It's Christmas eve and this whole month has been rather exciting, it's a truly magical season revolving round the divine child's birth. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season... may the love, peace, joy and hope of the divine child fill our hearts and our homes. Merry Christmas, stay blessed.

Mount Saleve, fondue and a birthday cake...

So my birthday was on the next day after our return from Paris and we decided to visit Mount Saleve in France, which is about twenty minutes from Geneva... it borders Geneva and looms over the city protectively.  Once you get down at the bus stop, you have to walk a few minutes to reach the cable cars that take you right to the top of Mount Saleve. In the picture, you'll see the cable car going up the mountain with me and my sister inside.   This is the view as you go up the mountain...  At the top of Mount Saleve....  You can see Geneva stretched out below you, can you make out the water fountain in the distance... the Jet d'Eau.   A sweeping view of Geneva ...  It's just beautiful up there...  Trees and sunlight glinting....   So quiet and peaceful...  This is a common sight in Europe, jet planes leaving traces in the clear blue sky...  Ideal place for picnics...  So after walking around and taking everything in, we took the ca

Christmas Decor in Manor...

Just wanted to show you the Christmas decorations that start appearing towards the end of October in shops like Manor, a Swiss department store chain.   Wreaths, Christmas balls, cages...  Candles, lanterns...  Snow men....  This was the one I loved the best... glowing orbs  Reindeer's...    More decorations...   Christmas-y stuff...  Santa Claus...  Fairy lights... I loved these too.  These lights were the best thing...  How uniform and homogeneous... so pleasing to the senses. I wonder about this so often, how people there have an eye for the aesthetic quality in things, whereas here they just mix and match colours till it looks like a drunken rainbow threw up on things. An example would be the lighting in my church back home, during the festival season it was garishly lit up with every imaginable colour of the spectrum and now during the Christmas season they have put up multicoloured stars that don't really go well with eac
