Book Review (atleast that's what I thought it was gonna be about)

Read a few good books this past month....
Keys of the Kingdom by A.J.Cronin: I heard about this book from Mother(Sr. Magdalene,Mother Superior in the convent/school I used to work in earlier). She is a retired english professor, and we used to spend a great deal of the day talking about books, authors, daily events happening in this world and the children. It was obvious our love for reading, we would exchange books and talk about the story and the plight of the protagonist the next day. I kinda miss that... those were days when I didn't mind working extra hours or even during Sundays, cause work there was never really like work... it was just one big happy family. I used to wake up thinking, wonder what's gonna happen today... what dare devil stunts will Carlton do today (he is autistic and these children are usually fearless, they have no sense of danger), what funny thing will Raja say today (this guy is hyperactive and cannot keep quiet for half a second, a staff member one day said, "As long as we have Raja, we will not need a speech therapist"), what trouble will Jasper brew this time (this boy has Down's Syndrome and, he is always looking for new ways to get into trouble. Recently a government official had come to visit the school, he parked his car inside the campus and went to the office room to talk to the sister. Jasper got into the car, turned the key in the ignition and the car roared to life... and let's just say Jasper was mighty pleased with himself, even though he had to get a earful from the staff), what political speech/rally slogans will Rishi deliver today(he is this guy who has this uncanny ability to remember every speech/song he has heard on TV or the radio or from political rally's, and the very next day he delivers it the exact same way.... and this usually takes hours)...
oh man... this was supposed to be about that book by Cronin, oh well, I will make that the next post.

Nice Ad....

Wouldn't you say so... Nam and me were in this huge clothing store and we were making fun of all the models on display (there was one of hrithik in which he looked kinda gayish) when we came across this one. Seriously, dark people are more better looking....

My school teachers...

So I got to thinking bout my school days recently and it saddened me that I was starting to forget a few teachers who had shaped my life, I have already forgotten nearly half the classmates... though its not my fault. Some people just don't want to join facebook, then how can you find them in this big world. Even if I do find them, there is not much to talk beyond the 'where are you & what are you doing' phrases. But the teachers are another matter, they deserve to be remembered for moulding us. I gotta hand it to the convent school I studied in, they really knew how to select their educators... all the teachers I had shared a genuine passion for teaching and above that they had strong moral values and faith which invariably shaped our lives. To them being a good person was what mattered the most and they made sure we grasped this knowledge, it also helped that I had staunch catholic parents who cemented this view. Anyway, I just wanted to jot down stuff bout my teacher...

And nobody was named Fred....

There was a Hugo and a Rosie... but no Fred. Oh well, it's over... that is more than enough. So finally the Harry Potter series has come to an end. And I did read all the books... but somehwere between the third and the fourth book, all the success went to her (Rowling's) head and she started churning out lousy sequels. I mean the first book was really nice, stuck to important stuff... and did not ramble on unnecessarily. I liked the third book the best, cause of Sirius... I thought he was the most amazing character, he was portrayed as this handsome reckless and brave guy, rugged looking but great looking, kinda like Aragon in the movie, "Lord of the rings" or Oded Fehr in "The Mummy Series". So it was only natural that I stopped watching the Harry potter movies, after I saw who they had cast to play the role of Sirius Black, some demented looking guy. Just look at the pictures!!! Anyway, this last book was just too much... there was too much of everyt...
