Blessed 2012 everyone...

Whew! the last few weeks were a whirlwind of activity... there was a lot of drama, two birthdays, a wedding anniversary, new year eve festivities, an engagement and two untimely deaths. Drama always occurs when the whole family is home, it was great to be back in the midst of it all... nothing new there. My brother's celebrated their birthday and I made my first ever authentic cheesecake which tasted like lassi and biscuits according to Antonio. New Year's eve was extremely fun, it was great singing with my church choir again... we sang 'When A Child is Born' and practicing for it was wonderfully uplifting. I miss choir practice, I miss getting that high feeling whenever we used to practice for Sunday mass. And the other big event was my sister's engagement to one of my best buddies, had a whale of a time there meeting cousins and hanging out with them. In between all this, I loved walking around my little town and soaking in the magic of Christmas. The beauty of this season is overwhelming, at least in my hometown it is... my place glows with a rustic kinda beauty, there are no giant Christmas trees or massive ornamental decorations. Most folks just blow up balloons and string them onto trees or they trail crepe paper through the trees and in the glow of the serial lights they look pretty. Bright stars adorn almost every house, as you stroll along you'll come across nativity scenes that are constructed with a kind of sweet smelling wild heather like stalks, and the churches (there are so many out there) are tastefully decorated to the hilt, you hear folks caroling every now and then... it's a simple kinda beauty that makes the town glow and this reflects onto the people. Have put up a few pictures on Facebook, you can see them here if you want to.

Death is never easy to understand, a lot of questions and doubts will arise... with time we learn to accept, and we hope and pray that they are happy in God's eternal kingdom. God bless Antonio's grandmother and my sister's close friend who have gone home to their Creator.

Well, here's wishing all of you a Blessed 2012... peace, joy and love be yours always. He promises a lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know He leads us and we will find grace to help us when we need it.

A happy life always include some sorrow part, it's love and care from family and friend that make life worth to live for. Many best wishes for 2012.

Nice Ad....

Wouldn't you say so... Nam and me were in this huge clothing store and we were making fun of all the models on display (there was one of hrithik in which he looked kinda gayish) when we came across this one. Seriously, dark people are more better looking....

My school teachers...

So I got to thinking bout my school days recently and it saddened me that I was starting to forget a few teachers who had shaped my life, I have already forgotten nearly half the classmates... though its not my fault. Some people just don't want to join facebook, then how can you find them in this big world. Even if I do find them, there is not much to talk beyond the 'where are you & what are you doing' phrases. But the teachers are another matter, they deserve to be remembered for moulding us. I gotta hand it to the convent school I studied in, they really knew how to select their educators... all the teachers I had shared a genuine passion for teaching and above that they had strong moral values and faith which invariably shaped our lives. To them being a good person was what mattered the most and they made sure we grasped this knowledge, it also helped that I had staunch catholic parents who cemented this view. Anyway, I just wanted to jot down stuff bout my teacher...

And nobody was named Fred....

There was a Hugo and a Rosie... but no Fred. Oh well, it's over... that is more than enough. So finally the Harry Potter series has come to an end. And I did read all the books... but somehwere between the third and the fourth book, all the success went to her (Rowling's) head and she started churning out lousy sequels. I mean the first book was really nice, stuck to important stuff... and did not ramble on unnecessarily. I liked the third book the best, cause of Sirius... I thought he was the most amazing character, he was portrayed as this handsome reckless and brave guy, rugged looking but great looking, kinda like Aragon in the movie, "Lord of the rings" or Oded Fehr in "The Mummy Series". So it was only natural that I stopped watching the Harry potter movies, after I saw who they had cast to play the role of Sirius Black, some demented looking guy. Just look at the pictures!!! Anyway, this last book was just too much... there was too much of everyt...
