Chocolate mug cake...

So I was craving something chocolatey the other day and remembered the 'cake in a mug' recipes I had seen online, so decided to try one out. Was a little skeptical at first, didn't really expect the cake to turn out well.  Was surprised when it came out perfect and fluffy like a normal cake after 2 minutes in the microwave. I don't really know how this process would work with a normal sized cake, but this cake in a mug recipe is simply wonderful. It would have been even more scrumptious with some ice cream or chocolate sauce...

Ingredients
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
(which is really maida, a teaspoon of baking powder and a pinch of baking soda)
4 Tablespoons powdered sugar
1 heaped Tablespoon cocoa powder
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
2 Tablespoons whisked egg
a splash of vanilla essence
Chocolate chips

Run the maida, baking powder and baking salt through the sieve. All the ingredients can be mixed directly in the cup, I did it in a bowl cause I wanted a clean cup for the pictures.
Add the sugar and the cocoa powder, to the all purpose flour.
Drop in the milk, oil, whisked egg and the splash of vanilla essence.
Mix it with a spoon till you get a smooth batter, and then pour it into the cup that can be used in a microwave.
Now, I didn't have chocolate chips, so I used some dark chocolate that was lying around in the fridge. I chopped up a few pieces and added it to the cake batter.
Here is the batter all ready to go into the microwave.
Set the timer for 2 minutes and watch the magic unfold, this was one of the reasons I was eager to try this cake. It's like a volcano... a chocolate volcano. Wait a few minutes and then dig in... its super soft and fluffy, like any ordinary cake. Mine was a little less sweet, which was okay with me.. if you prefer more sweet add another tablespoon of sugar to the batter. This is great for on the spot desserts for two people, all you need is a little vanilla ice cream to go with it. So try this and let me know how it turned out.

Hi Rashmi, I hope it comes out well... my brother tried it out and he did not mince words while telling me what he thought of it.
I am so new to mug cakes! I always see them but have never made one myself. I should try it out because I always am craving a quick and easy sweet fix :)

Nice Ad....

Wouldn't you say so... Nam and me were in this huge clothing store and we were making fun of all the models on display (there was one of hrithik in which he looked kinda gayish) when we came across this one. Seriously, dark people are more better looking....

My school teachers...

So I got to thinking bout my school days recently and it saddened me that I was starting to forget a few teachers who had shaped my life, I have already forgotten nearly half the classmates... though its not my fault. Some people just don't want to join facebook, then how can you find them in this big world. Even if I do find them, there is not much to talk beyond the 'where are you & what are you doing' phrases. But the teachers are another matter, they deserve to be remembered for moulding us. I gotta hand it to the convent school I studied in, they really knew how to select their educators... all the teachers I had shared a genuine passion for teaching and above that they had strong moral values and faith which invariably shaped our lives. To them being a good person was what mattered the most and they made sure we grasped this knowledge, it also helped that I had staunch catholic parents who cemented this view. Anyway, I just wanted to jot down stuff bout my teacher...

And nobody was named Fred....

There was a Hugo and a Rosie... but no Fred. Oh well, it's over... that is more than enough. So finally the Harry Potter series has come to an end. And I did read all the books... but somehwere between the third and the fourth book, all the success went to her (Rowling's) head and she started churning out lousy sequels. I mean the first book was really nice, stuck to important stuff... and did not ramble on unnecessarily. I liked the third book the best, cause of Sirius... I thought he was the most amazing character, he was portrayed as this handsome reckless and brave guy, rugged looking but great looking, kinda like Aragon in the movie, "Lord of the rings" or Oded Fehr in "The Mummy Series". So it was only natural that I stopped watching the Harry potter movies, after I saw who they had cast to play the role of Sirius Black, some demented looking guy. Just look at the pictures!!! Anyway, this last book was just too much... there was too much of everyt...
