The Jet of Water...

My brother's living room... this was where we would all collapse at the end of a tiring day. We walked a whole lot during these holidays, many beautiful villages have to be explored on foot and with every step we would fall more in love with the place.
When me and my sister get together, we usually do such girly stuff... applying mehendi, painting our nails, braiding our hair in different styles.
My sister brought along a chromecast with her and it was fun watching and singing along to country music videos, like this Alan Jackson one.
We visited the park, where a real functioning clock made with flowers is located. Switzerland, being a major manufacturer of clocks and watches, has combined it's art of telling time with the beauty of nature. It is bright and sunny even at quarter to seven in the evenings, the sun sets quite late here.
This water jet (Jet d'Eau) is the defining sight in Geneva, it's almost an emblem to this beautiful city. Apparently it is one of the the tallest fountains in the world,  spewing about 7000 liters of water in the air.
Some flowers that line the bank... and the jet in the distance
Some bust...
A dock...
The jet and it's curtain of spray...
Neptune and some ducks floating about...
When we started feeding them, the swans came out like they were possessed, not like the gentle and graceful creatures we think them to be...
They have an amazing transport system here, a whole day pass can be purchased at any bus stop and any mode of transport may be used with that pass, be it a bus, or a tram or a boat. Here we are in the ferry...
The jet seen from the ferry...
Just a nicely decorated place...
I read somewhere that prince and princesses from the rich gulf countries (mostly Saudi Arabia) tend to settle down in Geneva. They buy acres of pristine land and settle down to a calm and lavish lifestyle in Europe. I know, it seems too much, royalty running away from their own oppressive country... anyway, saw this car and wondered whether it belonged to one such pampered oil rich royal heir.
Another statue...
A cute little cottage...
This was the dinner I had that day, some really good bacon and egg salad...
Creme Brulee, a dessert, that reminds me of Frasier Crane
The Notre Dame Cathedral in Geneva, located near the station...
The next day being Sunday, we were on our way to church... saw this cute little house on the way. Houses do look better this way than the rectangle blocks that are built today.
The church entrance...
Inside the church. Every first Sunday, the African choir sings and it is quite an event, they sing in the African dialect with drum beats and the rhythmic swaying of bodies... you feel like jumping in and joining them.
Statue of St. Nicolas de Flue in church, patron saint of Switzerland...
A wood carved statue of Mother Mary and Jesus...
This is how the church looks at night from outside...
Showing off my mehendi... nam took this picture in the bus
So before I went there, my brother told me that he had bought some mutton and stored it in the freezer and when I go there I was supposed to make mutton briyani, so I made it for lunch on Sunday and it come out really really well...
Mutton sukka...
Next post will be about my trip to Germany...

Nice Ad....

Wouldn't you say so... Nam and me were in this huge clothing store and we were making fun of all the models on display (there was one of hrithik in which he looked kinda gayish) when we came across this one. Seriously, dark people are more better looking....

Tawusi Melek: The Peacock Angel

The Last Girl (2017) by a Yezidi survivor, Nadia Murad, is filled with the bone-chilling sort of evil that the ISIS is synonymous with. Nadia poignantly captures the plight of her Yazidi village, Kocho, as the threat of ISIS looms large in the distance before becoming a reality. As with the Holocaust, no one really anticipates the amount or intensity of evil that could reside in the indoctrinated hearts of men. Otherwise, nobody would willingly stay back in their towns or villages waiting for the genocide of their race. One of Nadia’s brother’s, Hezni, did try to go Germany, by crossing the northern Iraqi border on foot into Turkey, from where they (the brother and a few others) made their way to Istanbul, then paid a smuggler to take them into Greece. But they were discovered and had to spend a horrible time in prison. So, the fact is people did try to leave, but like Nadia explains, it isn’t easy to leave the only place one has ever known. I still think that being forced to

A tribute to the crazy bunch....

Here are a few picutres that won't find a place in the wedding album... but they were equally (some of them, even more) memorable. Everybody loves sunoj.... I was so happy to see them all...... (first time they were coming to my new place) Sunoj again.... hanging out with this guy is like shopping, ice cream, chocolates... etc. You can't get enough of them. The crazy cousins gave us a very interesting gift... this gift will be with us for six months then it will start its cycle of educating the owners. Though I doubt my cousins need much education in that department. It was fun opening the book and Jardin being the smart guy wanted somethin read from page 69. It was so cute the way Sunoj quickly picked up "The Magic Faraway Tree Series" from the corner and gave me to hold up when Robert uncle walked into the room (turns out he was the one who bought the book). I still remember Robert uncle laughing his head off.... good times. This wa
