Reaching Wengen...

Aug 6th, Saturday
Woke up, did yoga in the chalet we were staying at with
stunning views outside the window.
The chalet windows and the cute decor...
Me and Nam...
Ate complimentary breakfast which was pretty good.
This is what I usually have, yogurt with muesli and fruits... there was a lot of cheese, breads and cold cuts.
The dining area...
Then walked around this little village...
 just taking pictures
My sister in red...
Mom...
The church...
Saw this pretty postcard in a shop... and immediately searched for the artist on Instagram. Love her pictures about two old grannies enjoying life...
A little stream...
Houses and mountains...
A cute chalet...
My sister adds a nice pop of colour to this picture...
The ice cold clear water flowing everywhere...
Overflowing with beauty...
Nestled in green
Cute window boxes...
Bales of hay rolled up...
Wheel with flowers...
Sat near a lake for a while...
Lovely place to read a book...
Picturesque village...
The bench among the trees...
Ducks in a lake...
Another great place to take in the views of this sleepy mountain town...
Walked back the room to pack up...
Me with the church background...
Wild flowers everywhere...
Vinod and mom walking back to the room...
My sister and dad walking ahead...
Checked out at 12pm, then drove to another beautiful spot an hour away. Stopped for coffee on the way.
The drive...
The place was really crowded and it was hot...
Saw this protestant church there...
The church in Lauterbrunnen...
We picked this place because of the falls, but the falls was just a trickle... you can see it here. Just a little water flowing from the top... that whitish lines flowing down the mountain. Needless to say this was a disappointment, I was telling the others how they would be blown away by the views. That was what I read online too... but reality was different.
We ate lunch at a nice place, Weidstübli, the lady Yonne was so patient and kind.
My brother or mom had this...
I think my dad had just the cucumber raita...
This looks like my sister's plate... raclette cheese with potatoes, pickled gherkins and pearl onions.
This was some soup of the day... which I had.
Then walked back to the car and drove to the parkin lot, parked the car and rushed to take the 4pm train to Wengen, made it just in time. And got off at Wengen in ten minutes. There was a car waiting to pick us up...
Mom and dad's room...
Nam and I stayed here...
I took a shower and went out walking alone to find the church (for the Sunday mass tomorrow) and town.
I loved exploring alone
Seeing cute sights...
Located the church for tomorrow's morning service...
Inside the small Catholic church in Wengen...

Mother Mary corner...
Holy water dispenser...
Exploring small paths...
Mountains are scared... you just feel their energy in your bones.
Saw the protestant church on the way...
The protestant church...
Then got back, and again we left at 8pm searching for a place to eat...
It was wonderfully cold and misty...
Mom in a chess field...
We ate here...
Found a nice place
with live music
My sister ate some pasta...
Looks like my brother had Lasagne...
I ate a pizza...
Nice candle lights at our table...
This was tiramisu...
The pretty restaurant...
We walked back in the cold night air... It felt good, magical.
Reached our hotel, this is the front desk...
Now so tired, walked a lot today...
The next day we explored Wengen and then went back home to Geneva... stay tuned.

Nice Ad....

Wouldn't you say so... Nam and me were in this huge clothing store and we were making fun of all the models on display (there was one of hrithik in which he looked kinda gayish) when we came across this one. Seriously, dark people are more better looking....

A tribute to the crazy bunch....

Here are a few picutres that won't find a place in the wedding album... but they were equally (some of them, even more) memorable. Everybody loves sunoj.... I was so happy to see them all...... (first time they were coming to my new place) Sunoj again.... hanging out with this guy is like shopping, ice cream, chocolates... etc. You can't get enough of them. The crazy cousins gave us a very interesting gift... this gift will be with us for six months then it will start its cycle of educating the owners. Though I doubt my cousins need much education in that department. It was fun opening the book and Jardin being the smart guy wanted somethin read from page 69. It was so cute the way Sunoj quickly picked up "The Magic Faraway Tree Series" from the corner and gave me to hold up when Robert uncle walked into the room (turns out he was the one who bought the book). I still remember Robert uncle laughing his head off.... good times. This wa

Tawusi Melek: The Peacock Angel

The Last Girl (2017) by a Yezidi survivor, Nadia Murad, is filled with the bone-chilling sort of evil that the ISIS is synonymous with. Nadia poignantly captures the plight of her Yazidi village, Kocho, as the threat of ISIS looms large in the distance before becoming a reality. As with the Holocaust, no one really anticipates the amount or intensity of evil that could reside in the indoctrinated hearts of men. Otherwise, nobody would willingly stay back in their towns or villages waiting for the genocide of their race. One of Nadia’s brother’s, Hezni, did try to go Germany, by crossing the northern Iraqi border on foot into Turkey, from where they (the brother and a few others) made their way to Istanbul, then paid a smuggler to take them into Greece. But they were discovered and had to spend a horrible time in prison. So, the fact is people did try to leave, but like Nadia explains, it isn’t easy to leave the only place one has ever known. I still think that being forced to
